Version 2026-10-27.

BowlSpeedy is an Android app that measures how fast a cricket ball is bowled, from a video of the delivery or with a tap timer. This policy explains what the app does with your videos and measurements, and what leaves your phone. It describes what the app actually does, not what it might someday do.

BowlSpeedy is operated by CodeHaste Inc, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Contact: info@codehaste.com.

The short version

  • BowlSpeedy has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting service of its own.
  • The app does not use the internet. It has no internet permission, so Android does not let it send anything anywhere.
  • Your videos and measurements stay on your phone. CodeHaste never receives them, or anything else from the app.

What the app uses on your phone

Camera. To film a delivery so you can mark the moment the ball is released and the moment it arrives.

Microphone. To record sound with the video. This is optional: if you refuse microphone access, the app records video without sound.

Videos you import. When you tap Import or Gallery, Android's own picker opens and BowlSpeedy receives only the video you choose. The app has no access to the rest of your photos and videos.

Your measurements. For each delivery you save: the speed, the flight time, the pitch length, the date and time, the pace band and, if you type one, the bowler's name. They are stored in the app's own storage on your phone.

Delivery videos. With "Always keep video file" (the default), the video of a saved delivery is copied into the app's own storage so you can replay it from History. With "Discard video after measuring", only the measurement is kept; the recording is left in the app's temporary cache, which Android clears when it needs space. Videos are not added to your phone's gallery, and other apps cannot see them.

Settings. Your speed and distance units, default pitch length and video setting, stored on your phone.

What leaves your phone

Nothing, unless you choose to send it:

  • Share. If you tap Share on a result, a line of text with the speed, pace band and pitch length goes to the app you pick.
  • Privacy policy. The link in Settings opens this page in your browser. The browser is a separate app; BowlSpeedy itself sends nothing.

What CodeHaste receives

Nothing from the app itself. Google Play gives every developer some statistics about their app, such as install counts and crash and "app not responding" reports from people who have chosen to share those with developers. These come to us through Google under Google's policies, and they don't include your videos or measurements.

How long things are kept

Everything stays on your phone until you remove it:

  • Deleting a delivery in History removes its measurement and its saved video. Clear All removes every delivery and video.
  • A video you imported stays in your gallery; BowlSpeedy only removes its own copy.
  • Uninstalling BowlSpeedy removes all of its measurements, videos and settings.

Permissions you can change

You can withdraw camera or microphone permission at any time in Android's settings. Without the camera, you can still import videos and use the tap timer. Without the microphone, videos are recorded without sound.

Children

BowlSpeedy is a sports training tool for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you film young players, the videos stay on your phone.

Your rights

Because CodeHaste does not hold any personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct or erase. Everything is on your phone and under your control. If you have a question or a complaint, write to info@codehaste.com. If it is a grievance under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, use the subject "Grievance Officer" and we will answer within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If what the app does with your data changes, this page changes first, with a new version date at the top.
