This multinational food company's financial systems had grown fragmented across regions, and reconciling them at close was a manual, error-prone slog — month- and quarter-end reporting was consistently delayed, and generating accurate Record-to-Report (R2R) figures across more than 30 countries of operation meant stitching together legacy ERPs by hand, with no real-time visibility across regions in between. We implemented SAP Central Finance in phases: a full data assessment and cleansing pass to bring existing records up to CFIN compatibility, an integration framework linking the legacy ERPs together with historical data migrated across without disrupting ongoing operations, an R2R reporting layer built on the customized CFIN platform with automated workflows and real-time insight in place of manual reconciliation, and a user training and post-implementation support program so finance teams could actually run the new system day to day. Month- and quarter-end reporting time dropped by 50%, centralized data reduced discrepancies and improved statement accuracy, finance gained real-time visibility across regions for the first time, and the automation freed staff who had been doing manual reconciliation to focus on higher-value work.
