Features

Everything you need to clock a delivery.

Record or import, mark two frames, and the maths is done for you: at the nets, in training or in a friendly match.

Frame-by-frame marking

Step through the video as finely as 8 ms, slow it to 0.1x, and mark the frame the ball leaves the hand and the frame it reaches the stumps. Then loop the flight at half speed to check.

Record or import

Film in 60 fps slow motion where your camera supports it, or import a 120 or 240 fps clip from your gallery.

km/h or mph, with a pace band

Each result shows the flight time, the speed and a pace band, from spin up to express fast.

Any pitch length

Standard 22 yards, junior, nets or any distance you enter, in metres or feet.

History and progress

Every saved delivery, with your fastest and average speed and a chart of your pace.

Quick tap timer

No video needed: tap as the ball leaves the hand and again at the stumps.

Tag the bowler

Add a name to a saved delivery to tell bowlers apart in your history.

Share a result

Send the speed, pace band and pitch length to any app.

Keep or discard video

Keep each clip to replay later, or keep only the numbers to save space.

How it works

From run-up to reading.

Speed is the pitch length divided by the time the ball takes to cover it. BowlSpeedy times that from your video.

  1. 1

    Film side-on

Stand level with the pitch, with the bowler's crease and the stumps in frame. Slow motion helps.

  2. 2

    Mark two frames

The frame where the ball leaves the hand, and the frame where it reaches the stumps.

  3. 3

    Read the speed

    Pitch length ÷ flight time: 20.12 m in 0.500 s is 144.9 km/h.

  4. 4

    Track your pace

Save each delivery and watch your fastest and average speeds over time.

Why it helps

No radar gun.
Just your phone.

BowlSpeedy turns a phone into a pace tracker for training. It's an estimate, not a calibrated speed gun, and it shows you how to make each reading as accurate as it can be.
