Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-07. This is the version recorded against your account when you signed up.
These terms are an agreement between you and CodeHaste Inc, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, who operate Caloriq. Using Caloriq means accepting them.
1. What Caloriq is
Caloriq records what you eat and how much you move, and compares it against targets it calculates from what you tell it about yourself.
It is not medical advice. The calorie and macronutrient targets are estimates from a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor with an activity multiplier) applied to figures you supply. They take no account of your medical history. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, managing a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor before following a calorie target. Caloriq will not propose a target below 1,200 kcal (1,500 for men), and withholds any deficit from anyone under 18, but those are floors, not advice.
Energy said to be burned — from workouts or from walking — is an estimate, and is shown beside your calorie budget rather than added to it.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older. Signup refuses a date of birth that makes you younger, and an account found to belong to someone under 18 is deleted.
One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Your account
Choose a password you do not use elsewhere, and keep it to yourself. Tell us at info@codehaste.com if you think someone else has access. Resetting your password ends every session on every device, which is the fastest way to lock someone out.
Your email address must be one you can receive mail at: verification and password-reset codes go there, and an unverified account can do almost nothing.
4. Your data is yours
What you record stays yours. You grant Caloriq only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store what you log, calculate from it, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the data or the account.
- Get a copy of everything at any time: Profile → Download my data.
- Delete everything at any time: Profile → Delete account. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
The privacy policy says what is kept and who else ever sees it.
5. Food data
Nutrition figures come from the source named on each catalogue entry, or from foods you enter yourself. Imported records retain their source and licence. Historical meals may contain Open Food Facts data under the Open Database License. Nutrition data can be wrong or incomplete and foods you enter yourself are your own responsibility.
6. Fair use
Do not:
- use another person's account, or let anyone use yours;
- try to reach data that is not yours, or probe the service for weaknesses beyond what a normal user does (if you find something, tell us);
- automate access, scrape the API, or work around its rate limits;
- resell Caloriq or pass it off as your own.
Rate limits apply to every route, and a request that exceeds one is refused
with a 429 and told when to try again.
7. Availability
Caloriq is offered as it is, with no promise of uptime, and may be interrupted for maintenance or fail outright. It is early software: features may change or be withdrawn. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — the export exists for exactly that.
8. Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, which ends this agreement and removes your data.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 6, or where we are required to. Except where you have broken these terms, we will tell you and give you a chance to export your data first.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Caloriq is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for decisions you take about your diet or health on the basis of what it shows you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes
If these terms change in substance, the version at the top changes with them and you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing. Wording and typographical fixes do not change the version.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction.
